Here's a brief History of BALDWIN ELECTRONICS
![]()
| Originally established in 1974 as Hinesly Electronics, a small CB and stereo shop in a converted gas station in Odessa Texas. |
| In 1981, it was purchased by employee Ray Baldwin, ( that's me ), who changed the name to Baldwin Electronics ( really original huh?) I'd been working there for 3 years starting out as a shop hand/cleanup guy and worked my way up to shop manager. In 1980 I told the owner I needed to buy the place or I'm going to have to start my own shop. Mr. Hinesly simply said "What took you so long?" :) | |
| After ten years of building a great reputation for quality service. We had outgrown the South Grant location. To acquire more room and a more convenient location we decided to move. | |
| In 1991 we moved to our present location at 2003 Andrews Highway in Odessa. It's a great location with two soundrooms, large showroom, and 8 car capacity service bays. Also has a complete woodshop, for custom enclosure fabrication. And we're just two blocks south of Odessa College. | |
| Our latest additions include GPS Tracking and Navigation, Mobile Video, OEM style Signal Mirrors, and Reverse Warning sensors. Including Audible And Video image rear view systems. | |
| Presently staffed by some really great people, see our photo pages.. | |
|
We're looking forward to continued success, growth and expansion in the coming years. |
